【令和2年度 島田の逸品選定】島田市を流れる大井川にちなんだ銘菓「大井川もなか」

かつて東海道の宿場町・島田宿だった島田市には、大井川が流れています。

東海道屈指の難所とされ、誰もが知る島田市の名所です。

今回は、そんな大井川と島田市の歴史にちなんだ逸品をご紹介します。

令和2年度 「島田の逸品」にも選ばれた「大井川もなか」

島田市には、「島田の逸品」という企画があります。

これは、島田市の魅力を日本、世界に発信するシンボルとなる産品を認定するもの。

平成27年度から始まり、2年に1度、厳選な審査の上認定されます。

「みのや」の「大井川もなか」は平成27年度、平成30年度、令和2年度の3回「島田の逸品」に認定されました。

昭和52年頃より発売して以来、時代の嗜好の変化に合わせて味、材料ともに改良を行っている、とても歴史のある銘菓です。

「大井川もなか」は大井川の歴史を形にしました

「大井川もなか」は大井川の歴史と深い関わりのあるものがモチーフです。

それは、「川越札」。

江戸時代、大井川を渡る為に島田宿で使用されていた「島田通用百文」という木札です。

川を渡るお金は毎朝の川の水の深さや川幅によって変わります。

人々は定められた分の川越札を川合所で買い、川越人足に払っていました。

パッケージには、大井川を渡る連台越しの様子と島田帯の模様をイメージした柄が描かれており、島田市の歴史が感じられます。

大井川もなか　167円（税込み　180円）

もなか皮に、あんこ、求肥がぎゅっと詰まって食べごたえあり！

あんこは、小粒で柔らかく味にクセのない北海道産の小豆を使用。

糖度を高く保ちつつ甘味を抑えて食べやすい甘さに仕上げました。

あんこに包まれた求肥は、羽二重粉を使用し、柔らかいけれどコシのあるしっかりした歯ごたえを楽しめます。

ご贈答用はもちろん、島田市へ遊びに来た記念に買っていく人も多くいる「大井川もなか」。
